Ascension Leadership Academy was pleased to welcome Maggie Howard, Admissions Representative from The University of Alabama, to campus this fall to meet with our dual enrollment students. Her visit provided valuable insight into how students can begin their college journey while still in high school through The University of Alabama’s dual enrollment and early college programs.

During her presentation, Maggie shared detailed information about how UA’s dual enrollment options can expand and complement the opportunities already available to Ascension students. She outlined course offerings, explained the admissions process, and highlighted how students can earn transferable college credit through very affordable programs offered by The University.
The discussion went beyond academics, opening the door to conversations about career pathways and long-term planning. Students learned how early college coursework can help them explore interests, prepare for future majors, and gain a head start on careers they can begin developing while still in high school.
For families, these opportunities represent a tremendous cost savings, allowing students to earn college credit at a lower cost while reducing the time and expense of completing a degree after high school. For students, it means confidence, momentum, and a clearer vision for life after graduation.
Maggie Howard’s visit was an exciting step in helping Ascension Leadership Academy students see what’s possible through dual enrollment and early college options and a strong start toward meaningful careers and academic success.
